Welcome to Chernobyl Aid Ireland

Irish Charity Chernoby Aid Ireland was formed twelve years ago. Its head office is in Waterford but its members span the whole of Ireland. Its main aim is to provide comfortable living conditions, good food and holiday respite for the children of Grozovo orphanage. All our members are voluntary, ordinary working people who give up their time freely to help make a better life for the children of Grozovo.

Our Mission Statement

Chernobyl Aid Ireland was established in 1997 to help the children of Grozovo Boarding School. It’s a home for 200 children aged from seven till seventeen. Grozovo Boarding School is 120 km outside Minsk – the capital of Belarus. All the children come from social backgrounds and need all the help they can get. The aim of Chernobyl Aid Ireland is to turn Grozovo from the former military barracks into decent place to live and go to school. We also provide medical and dental treatment for the children and organize Rest & Recuperation programme for them in Ireland.
